MPS Photography ...all things Photographic.

Explanation and examples of Pricing

I live by the saying "You get what you pay for." Therefore, I am not the "cheapest" photographer you will find, nor am I the most expensive. I feel that everyone should have the opportunity to get good quality and service at a reasonable price. My prices reflect my experience and knowledge that I've gained as a professional photographer and designer.

Every wedding is unique and I treat them as such. What works best for me is to gather all of the details of your event and write you a personalized estimate that can be adjusted to fit your needs.

I base my pricing on:
  • The event location(s) in reference to my office to calculate travel time
  • How many locations we will be photographing at and if the event cover multiple days and times
  • How many guests
  • The need for a second photographer (for guests over 150, a second photographer is required)
  • The products you request - prints, images on a DVD, custom albums, enlargements, etc.
  • The amount of time organizing, correcting and processing images that are taken
I would ask that you go to my "Contact Me" page and send me your information about the event so I can put something together for you. I understand that you may have a budget, I tend to do things Ala Carte'.

I will say that my prices for a 5 hour wedding with less than 150 guests starts at $1,500 and 8+ hour weddings with 150+ guests and a second photographer starts at $2,500. If you don't quite fit into theses categories I would still encourage you to contact me to see if we can reach an agreement that fits your specific needs.
Much like weddings, all events are unique too. I cover everything from small birthday and anniversary celebrations to large black tie award ceremonies and public relations events.

I base my pricing on:
  • The event location(s) in reference to my office to calculate travel time
  • How many locations we will be photographing at for example: multiple locations, indoor/outdoor
  • How many people will be photographed
  • How many guests
  • The need for a second photographer (for guests over 150, a second photographer is required)
  • The products you request - prints, images on a DVD, custom albums, enlargements, etc.
  • The amount of time organizing, correcting and processing images that are taken
I once again ask that you would go to my "Contact Me" page and send me your information about the event so I can put something together for you.
I shoot three main types of portraits: Family, Modeling and Corporate public relations images. My fees are as follows:

Family (baby, group, couple) - Cost is $100 per hour for a session at your location. Distance over 15 miles from my location (PA 19044) is an additional $25 for each 15 miles. You will receive unlimited portraits with a variety of poses which will be uploaded to your personalized Shutterfly gallery for your viewing and approval. From the site you may choose from a variety of print sizes and photo gifts at competitive pricing. I can also offer you a variety of creative images including painterly effects on a stretched canvas or watercolor paper, notecards and color-toned prints such as black and white or sepia.

Model (product and fashion) - I generally follow the same pricing of $100 per hour and can offer a variety of sizes. If you are looking for a modeling "comp card" which includes images of yourself on the front and your personal information on the back (body measurements, resume and contact information), please contact me and I will provide you with pricing on printing and use for digital formats online.

Corporate (head shots, office environment and public relations images) - If you are interested in an image that can be used in brochures and marketing materials and online use, the cost is $100 per hour. Distance over 15 miles from my location (PA 19044) is an additional $25 for each 15 miles. If you want the image on a DVD, I will provide you with sizes and formats for print and web along with a release for to use the images for an additional $50. If you have multiple people at the same location, I offer volume pricing discounts. Please contact me for more information.
Commercial work typically falls within two categories: Architectural and Product. Architectural includes office and building interiors and exteriors, in-progress construction and factories including mechanical operations and procedures. The second, product photography includes anything from food, clothing, retail and wholesale products to be used in a variety of marketing materials.

I base my pricing on:
  • The location(s) in reference to my office to calculate travel time. If I can shoot your product at my location, a discount is available if you can ship or deliver it to me
  • How many locations we will be photographing at for example, multiple offices on the same floor or at different buildings
  • The need for food, model or product stylists for your shoot
  • Cost of any additional supplies or materials for the shoot including equipment or prop rentals
  • The amount of time organizing, correcting and processing the images
  • The final output of the images (web, print, etc.)
I once again ask that you would go to my "Contact Me" page and send me your information about the event so I can put something together for you. My pricing is very competitive since I have little overhead and I shoot the work myself. I have a small studio, so I mostly shoot on location.
I offer a variety of services to bring your old, damaged images back to new or take images that need manipulation to fit your needs. I can take your original image and scan it, leaving the original unharmed. I can digitally repair stains, tears or fading and make it look like new again. For those of you that need something added or taken away, I can do that too. My pricing to do this type of work costs $50 per half hour including scanning and repair and to put the before and after image on a CD. I also offer a variety of print sizes from my online store.

Since each project is different, please contact me with the requirements for your project and if possible, a sample of the image(s) to be worked on.
I work in a variety of styles and formats when I create my work. Sometimes I will shoot film and print on unique textured papers, and other times use a digital camera to create a digital painting using software like Corel Painter and print it to a stretched canvas. I shoot everything from traditional landscapes to abstract pieces that show texture, color and contrast. I hang my work in local galleries and businesses and sell limited editions of prints. If you see any images on my website that you would like to have printed and framed, please contact me and we can discuss the many creative options I have to offer. I can also take existing images that are non-copyrighted like vintage photographs and add digital effects to them like turning images into drawings or watercolors and print them on a variety of different papers and materials.

I also am available to do commissioned work such as landscapes, animals and botanicals, architecture and abstract art to fit the decor and design ideas you may have for your home or office. Please contact me with your ideas and we can find a theme and style to fit your needs.
